Onward!

It is a tremendous honor and a profound privilege to be the Democratic candidate to represent the 4th Congressional District of Ohio. I would like to thank all of our dedicated staff and volunteers who have made this possible. Over the last several months, your energy and optimism is what has given me the motivation to continue this fight. Moving forward, it is my hope that Representative Jordan will partake in a rigorous debate on the issues affecting our communities so that the people of OH-4 can decide for themselves who will better represent their interests in Washington.

I didn’t grow up wanting to be a member of Congress. I achieved my career goals in becoming an educator. Throughout my career, public service has been my calling. Today, our country faces grave threats around the world as well as here at home. Those concern me deeply.

I’m running for Congress to help put an end to the politics of deceiving the public, attacking public institutions and career civil servants for political gain, interfering with legitimate law enforcement investigations and prosecutions, impugning the integrity of people just because they hold opposite views, and putting party and partisan politics over the best interests of the country.

I’m running for Congress because I want to bring real representation to OH-4 that reflects the needs of the people. I want to make our schools cathedrals to education. I want to make curing the opioid epidemic a national priority. I want to expand economic opportunity in the district. Farmers should be able to make a fair profit from their labors. New businesses and the jobs that will come with them need to be attracted into the district. An entire new class of working poor should be able to earn decent, living wages without having to work three jobs to do so. I want to bring federal dollars to the district to build up our infrastructure. I want our citizens to benefit from higher quality and more affordable health care.

My agenda is grounded in family values, reasoned with common sense, and puts country over party.

I hope to see you on the campaign trail over the coming months as I make my case.
